Tau Pathology Scholarly Journal
Tauopathies are a category of
neurodegenerative diseases related to the pathological aggregation of tau protein within the human brain.Tau
pathology concerns many familial or sporadic
neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer's disease (AD), progressive
supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), Pick's disease (PiD), FTDP-17, myotonic
muscular dystrophy (MyoD), and lots of other diseases. Tau
pathology is suspected to accumulate first within the Lateral Entorhinal Cortex (LEC) then spread to other sites within the medial lobe , like the perirhinal cortex, also as neocortical sites like the posterior cingulate cortex.
