Proteomics-Scientific-Journals

Proteomics is the study of proteins on a big scale. Proteins are vital components of living organisms, and have many functions. The proteome is the entire set of proteins that an organism or system creates or modificates. Proteomics has made it possible to classify ever growing protein counts. This varies with the time and requirements that a cell or organism undergoes, or stresses them. Proteomics is an interdisciplinary domain which has greatly benefited from the genetic information of different genome projects, including the Human Genome Project. It covers exploration of proteomes from the overall composition , structure, and activity of proteins.  A cell may produce various protein sets at different times or under different conditions, such as during development, cell differentiation , cell cycle, or carcinogenesis. As mentioned, most proteins are able to undergo a wide range of post-translation modifications as well as further increasing proteome complexity.
