Photonics-telecommunications

Photonics is the science of light generation, identification, and exploitation, through emissions, transmitting, amplification, signal processing, switching, attenuation, and sensing. Although it encompasses all the scientific applications of light across the full spectrum, the majority of photonic applications are in the context of visible and near-infrared radiation. Photonics is indeed the technology that generates and harnesses light and other forms of radiant energy of which the photon is the quantum unit. Photonics includes having to cut-edge uses of lasers, optics, fiber optics, and electro-optical technologies in highly diverse technological fields – alternative energy, manufacturing , healthcare, telecommunications, environmental management, homeland defense, aerospace, solid state lighting, and many more.
