Pharmacokinetics Journals

Pharmacokinetics(PK) is a branch of pharmacology which is committed to determine the fate of the substances administered to a living organism.Pharmacokinetics is the study of how an organism affects a drug, whereas pharmacodynamics (PD) refers to the study of how a drug affects the organism. Both together influence the dosing, benefit and also the adverse effects.Pharmacokinetics describes how the body affects to a specific xenobiotic/chemical after its administration through the mechanisms of the absorption and the distribution, as well as the metabolic changes of the substance in the body (e.g. by metabolic enzymes such as cytochrome P450 or glucuronosyltransferase enzymes), and the effects and routes of excretion of the metabolites of a drug.Pharmacokinetic properties of chemicals are affected by the route of administration and the dose of administered drug. These may affect the absorption rate.Pharmacokinetic modelling is performed by non compartmental or compartmental methods. It describes how the human body is  affected by a specific xenobiotic or chemical after administration through the mechanisms of absorption , distribution, as well as the metabolic changes of the substance in the human body and the effects & routes of excretion of the metabolites of the drugs. Noncompartmental methods estimates the exposure to a drug by estimating the area under the curve of a concentration-time graph where as Compartmental methods estimates the concentration-time graph using kinetic models
