Neuropathic Pain High Impact Factor Journals

Neuropathic pain is pain induced by injury or illness that affects the somatosensory nervous system. Neuropathic pain may be associated with irregular sensations called dysesthesia, or discomfort from usually non-painful stimuli (allodynia). It can have components which are continuous and/or episodic (paroxysmal). The latter resemble electric shocks or stabbings. Common qualities include the sensations of burning or cold, "pins and needles," numbness and itching. Neuropathic pain can be due to peripheral nervous system or central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) disorders. Thus, neuropathic pain may be divided into neuropathic peripheral pain, central neuropathic pain, or mixed neuropathic pain (peripheral and central). Neuropathic pain can occur in isolation or with other forms of pain. Medical services focus on the detection of the root cause and the pain relief. In neuropathic cases , the pain can advance to insensitivity.
