Microbes cause infectious diseases such as flu and measles.Microbes can enter the body through the four sites listed below: 1.Respiratory tract (mouth and nose) 2.Gastrointestinal tract (mouth oral cavity) 3.Urogenital tract 4.Breaks in the skin surface There is also strong evidence that microbes may contribute to many non–infectious chronic diseases such as some forms of cancer and coronary heart disease.They multiply rapidly.
