Malarial Headache
Malaria is a mosquito borne tropical disease. Headaches are an important symptom manifested in
malaria cases, which may be cerebral or not. Cytokine is an important factor that leads to headaches when the patient has acute malaria. Certain anti-malarial
drugs are known to cause headaches.
Malaria is generally characterized with symptoms of fever in addition to various other symptoms.
Malaria can present itself with various symptoms and must be treated with the diagnosis of all the clinical symptoms. As the disease sets in the patient may feel the relapse of the various symptoms at regular intervals of time and this may be a tricky issue in its treatment. Headaches will be a prominent symptom with or without fever. At times the intensity of the headaches may be high and can resemble intra-cranial infections.
