List Of Angiology Journals
Angiology cares with the body's complex system of blood vessels, particularly the arteries and veins. The angiologist knows about the structure and characteristics of the varied blood vessels within the body. He is a specialist altogether the changes which will occur in these vessels. His area of expertise includes, therefore, disorders such as the narrowing or closure, dilation and
inflammation of the vessels. In order to be ready to determine exactly how a vessel has changed, he's ready to perform a spread of examinations, e.g. a Doppler ultrasound test, oscillography (measuring the fluctuations in volume of the extremities) or maybe a test run on a jogging machine. The angiologist knows about the varied ways of treating vessels that have undergone change. For example, he will remove varicose veins employing a method referred to as 'stripping', affect spider veins or remove blockages in blood vessels by means of a surgical intervention. In such cases he's employed with a vascular surgeon, a specialist in vessel surgery. High blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, high level of cholesterol in the blood (hypercholesterolemia) and smoking significantly contribute to the deterioration of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. There is also an inherited (genetic) predisposition to these factors. On the other hand, healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, doing regular exercise, good mood and reducing
stress during normal daily activities can significantly contribute to reduce the risk of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis of the arteries.
