Lingual Tonsils Scholarly Peer-review Journal

This is known as the collection of the lymphatic tissues which are located in the root of the tongue. Lymphatic nodules which is rich in the cells of immune system are present in the the lymphatic tissue. These tonsils are present above the valleculae an air filled pouches between the tongue and the epiglottis. They are mostly super visualized with tongue protruded, but it is not true for the patients. They are mostly recognized as the bilateral red, nodules on the posterolateral border of the tongue. This surgery includes the removal of lingual tonsil to enlarge the airway at back of the tongue.
