  Kidney stones prevalence has been increasing globally. A better understanding of the pathogenesis and prevention can help curb this growing epidemic. Kidney stone or renal calculus is a solid stone like or crystal mass formed in the kidneys. They are mainly formed from the dietary minerals found in urine and can be classified on the basis of their location and chemical composition. Together, journal articles in a particular field are often referred to as The Literature. Journal articles are most often Primary Research Articles. However, they can also be Review Articles. Without a background in the field, journal articles may be hard to understand - however, you do not need to understand an entire article to be able to get valuable information from it.
