High Impact Factor Food Biotechnology Journals
A branch of food science in which modern biotechnological techniques are applied is called food
biotechnology or food produced from organisms which have introduced specific changes to their DNA using
genetic engineering methods. Food science and food
biotechnology were then advanced to encompass the discovery of enzymes and their role in food
fermentation and digestion. Further technological development of enzymes arose with this discovery. High-impact
journals are those which are considered highly influential in their fields. Journal
impact factor provides a quantitative assessment method for the ranking, review, selection, and comparison of related papers. It reflects the average number of citations to recent
articles published in science and
social science journals in a given year or period, and is often used as a proxy for a journal's relative importance within its field. It is first devised by the Institute for Scientific
Information founder, Eugene Garfield. A journal's
impact factor is calculated by splitting the number of current year citations into the source items that were published in that journal during the previous two years.
