Germline Stem Cells Online Journals

Germline stem cells are a source of the continuous production of the gametes, sperms which enter and eggs, with the ability to produce a differentiated daughter cell and a daughter stem cell from various through asymmetric self-renewal cell division. Germ cells are cells that used to create the reproductive cells called gametes. Germ cells which are located only in the gonads and are called oogonia in females and the spermatogonia in males. In females, they are found in the ovaries and in males it is found in the testes. Germ cells produce gametes and are the only cells which is used to undergo meiosis as well as mitosis. Somatic cells are all the other cells used to form the building blocks of the body and they can only divide by mitosis. The lineage of germ cells is known as germ line.
