Female Athlete Triad High Impact Factor Journals
Female athlete triad is a chronic
syndrome found in physically active females with three factors, such as reduced energy supply with or without eating disorders, menstrual impairment, and poor bone density. There is no requirement for an patient to exhibit clinical signs of all three components of the female athlete triad concurrently to be impaired by the disorder. The consequences of these clinical conditions may not be fully reversible, so prevention, early diagnosis and intervention are critical. All athletes are at risk of a female athlete triad, regardless of body building or sport. Both involved females should be evaluated for triad components and further assessment should be conducted if one or more components are detected.
