Biological Pest Control Open Access Journals

A method of suppressing or controlling the population of unwanted insects, other animals or plants by introducing, encouraging or artificially increasing their natural enemies to economically unimportant levels is biological control, biocontrol or biological pest control.Biological control is part of an integrated strategy for managing pests. It is characterized by natural enemies as reducing the pest populations and usually involves an active human role. All insect species are often killed, with no human feedback, by naturally occurring organisms and environmental factors. This is also referred to as natural power. Natural enemies of insect pests, also referred to as biological control agents, include predators, parasitoids, and pathogens. The most commonly referred to as antagonists are biological control agents of plant diseases. There are three broad and somewhat overlapping types of biological control: conservation, classical biological control And augmentative biological control(biopesticides).  Difference types of biological pest control agents include predators, parasitoidal insects,  parasitic nematodes and in some cases plants regulate insect pests.
