Preserving this biodiversity is essential to our environmental health and quality of life, but it is under increasing pressure, from all over the world, from a variety of human activities. Since its inception in 1994, the UNSW Center for Biomarine Innovation has been a leader in basic and applied research in the fields of microbiology and ecology. Expert knowledge areas include underwater forest restoration, antimicrobial symbiosis, marine marine disease, new bioprospective biodiversity for new drugs and bioactives, invasive species ecology, biogenic habitats and biodiversity, microbial process in agriculture, ecology and bio-function. Films and microbial interactions with biochar.
