Workplace Stress

Workplace stress then is the destructive physical and emotional responses that can occur when there is a battle between job demands on the employee and the amount of switch an employee has over meeting these demands. Increased levels of job stress as evaluated by the perception of having little control but lots of demands have been confirmed to be associated with increased rates of heart attack, hypertension, and other disorders.  In New York, Los Angeles and additional municipalities, the connection between job pressure and heart attacks is so well recognized, that any police officer who suffers a coronary event on or off the job is assumed to have a work-related injury and is compensated.
