Virtual Engineering Journals

Virtual Engineering (VE) is a multidisciplinary field in computer-aided engineering (CAE) technologies involving the application of various computer-based engineering devices, such as computer-aided design (CAD) in geometric modeling, finite element methods (FEM) in research, and other mechanical and process simulation systems. In a lifecycle of a product, design is the foundation and drives simulation-based engineering ambition aimed at ensuring seamless communication between the various CAE devices. This involves a collaborative engineering work in which VE and the interface specifications play a crucial role. Of course today's engineering firms are facing intense competition in a competitive marketplace. This race to win the market can be described as innovation-based, as the classic competitive factors should be reconciled with other challenges such as new product models, economic, health and legislative aspects. Digital Engineering Journal aims to publish papers to tackle this challenge by making design engineering data accessible for other processes used to realize a product where VE can contribute to reducing product development time, assisting decision-makers, simplifying the generation of alternative design approaches, and providing interfaces that allow 3D model manipulation.
