Thrombosis is that the process of a grume , also referred to as a thrombus, forming during a vessel . This clot can block or obstruct blood flow within the affected area, also as cause serious complications if the clot moves to an important a part of the circulatory system, such as the
brain or the lungs. It is normal for the body to produce clotting factors like platelets and fibrin when a blood vessel is injured, to prevent an excessive loss of blood from the body. If this effect is over productive it can obstruct the flow of blood and form an embolus that moves round the blood stream. Thrombosis: The formation or presence of a grume during a vessel . deep vein thrombosis or a coronary (artery) thrombosis. The clot itself is termed a thrombus. If the clot breaks loose and travels through the bloodstream, it's a thromboembolism. Injury to the epithelial
cells on the wall of blood vessels after trauma,
surgery or and
infection also can precipitate coagulation and possible thrombosis.Abnormal blood flow, like venous stasis following coronary failure or long periods of sedentary behavior, also can cause thrombosis to occur. Additionally, another
health conditions can affect blood flow and cause the assembly of a thrombus, including fibrillation and cancer.
