Textile Recycling Uses
A garment 's total life expectancy is estimated to be three years. They are being thrown away as old clothes after the time span. Even useful clothing is discarded because it is no longer fashionable, or desirable. A survey claims more than one million tons of textiles are condemned annually. Instead of being recycled and reused, large amounts of discarded clothes wind up in the garbage. Textiles make about 3 per cent by weight of the house hold garbage. Textile
waste also occurs during the manufacturing of yarns and fabrics, the production of clothes, etc. They are called
waste post-industrial. All this tossed away clothes has recycling and reuse potential. The garments collected are sorted and classified as natural , synthetic, and blended fabrics. Good quality clothes are sent to charities and used as second-hand clothing. Unwearable textiles are considered to be textiles damaged, and are processed as rags in the factory and recycled.
