Synthetic Biology Peer Reviewed Journals

A consensus definition drafted by a gaggle of European experts defined Synthetic Biology as follows: ‘Synthetic biology is that the engineering of biology: the synthesis of complex, biologically based (or inspired) systems, which display functions that don't exist in nature. Synthetic biology engineering impression could also be applied in the least levels of the hierarchy of biological structures—from individual molecules to whole cells, tissues and organisms. Clearly, a crucial aspect of Synthetic Biology that differentiates it from Systems Biology is that the term ‘Engineering' and ‘Synthesis of novel functions'.
