 Osteoarthritis is the common joint disorder. It typically affects the joints of the hands, weight-bearing joints and the spine. In usual joints, a rubbery material called cartilage covers the ends of each bone. It offers a smooth, gliding surface for joint motion and turns as a cushion between the bones. In this, the cartilage wears away leading to joint damage. Symptoms: Common symptoms are joint pain and stiffness which characteristically occur after activity or towards the end of the day. Weather changes may make the pain worse, specifically damp weather. Affected joints may swell after prolonged activity. Clicking / cracking sounds when a joint stoops. Swelling may be seen.
