Retinal Degenerative Diseases Journals

The retina is an accessible part of the central nervous system and the interest in neuroprotective and gene therapy is generally significant for CNS diseases and neurodegenerations. It can be remembered that retinal degeneration treatments contribute to novel therapeutic steps for CNS neurodegenerations with effective and promising initial clinical trials of neuroprotective and gene therapy, including the development of sight of blind children. For several retinal degenerative diseases like RP, progressive depletion of these cells has been identified as a cause of blindness. The precise cause of cell death with the photoreceptor is not well known. One possible cause is the endocytosis of stable complexes formed in certain mutants between rhodopsin and its regulatory protein arrest.
