Proteomics-Innovations

Genetic markers can be used to determine predisposition to tumor development but most cancers do not have molecularly targeted treatment strategies. Precision care plans must also be established through understanding and carrying out fundamental scientific studies into clinical practice. Proteomics continues to make major progress in discovering fundamental biological processes as well as making a more recent transition to an assay platform that can measure hundreds of proteins in any biological system. As such, proteomics can translate discoveries from basic science into precision medicine clinical practice. In technology, scope and depth of applications in all areas of bioscience, the proteomic sector has advanced at a rapid pace over the last five years. Some of the previously experimental technical approaches are today considered to be the gold standard, and the community is now trying to reconcile the volume and complexity of the generated data.
