Open Access Computational Biology Journals:
The arena of
computational biology has become one of the utmost important disciplines of both
computer science and of the life sciences. The field has grown along with the explosive growth of data created in the post-genomic era. DNA
sequencing data,
simulation data, imaging data, and experimental data of all sorts has made
computational biology indispensable. But the real development of these technical and computational advances is that new experiments are now thinkable, new questions are now ask able. Since the determination of the 3D structure of DNA over half a century ago, molecular and
structural biology have experienced unusual progress. The deeper understanding is obtained through the interdisciplinary interface of Biology with the Computational and Mathematical Sciences, which has led to the rise and recognition of
Computational Biology as a discipline at the boundary of these sciences. This restraint has today a well-connected honorable community, with a host of established conferences and publication venues, and a vigorous professional market, organized by the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries. Note this doesn't imply that the
model has been demonstrated, regardless of whether the
model makes at least one right expectations about new investigations. Except for exceptionally limited cases, it is absurd to expect to demonstrate that a
model is right, just to discredit it and afterward improve it by altering it to join the new outcomes.
