Open Access Articles On Heart Attack

A heart attack is the death of a heart muscle segment, caused by blood supply loss. The blood is usually cut off when a blood clot blocks an artery supplying the heart muscle. If some of the muscle in the heart dies, a person experiences chest pain and heart muscle tissue electrical instability. There are a few heart conditions which can lead to heart attacks. Plaque buildup in the arteries ( atherosclerosis) is one of the most common causes, preventing blood from reaching the heart muscle. Blood clots, or a torn blood vessel can also cause heart attacks. Less commonly a spasm of the blood vessel causes a heart attack.
