Neuropharmacology Online Journals_
Neuropharmacology is the study of how
drugs affect the cellular function in the nervous system & the neural mechanisms through which they influence the behavior of humans.Neuropharmacology is a branch of science which involves the study which deals with the
drugs that affect the nervous system. It is focused on the development of compounds which may be of benefit to individuals who suffer from neurological or psychiatric illness.this field requires an in-depth knowledge of how the nervous system functions as well as the way in which each drug acts upon neural circuits and alters cellular behavior, and eventually the organism’s behavior. The two main branches of
neuropharmacology are behavioral and molecular. Behavioral
neuropharmacology focuses on the study of how
drugs affect human behavior, including the study of how
drugs dependence & addiction affect the human
brain and Molecular
neuropharmacology involves the study of
neurons & their neurochemical interactions & receptors of the
neurons with the overall goal of developing new
drugs that will treat neurological disorders such as pain,
neurodegenerative diseases, and psychological disorders.
