Mining Open Access

Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological material from the earth, usually from ore deposits, ice, veins, layers, reefs or glue. This deposit is an attractive mineralization package for miners. Stone and metal extraction has been a human activity since prehistoric times. Modern mining processes include ore body exploration, analysis of prospective mining prospects, extraction of desired materials and final restoration of land after the mine is closed. Mining generally has a negative impact on the environment during mining and after the mine is closed. As a result, most countries in the world have adopted regulations to reduce their impact. Work safety has also been a problem for a long time, and modern practice has significantly improved safety at the mine. Extraction techniques can be divided into two common types of excavation: open and underground mining. Open pit mining is far more common and, producing 85% of non-oil minerals such as natural gas including 98% of metal ore.
