The mastoidectomy is a surgical procedure that detach unhealthy mastoid air cells. This mastoid is the section of the skull that is present in back of ear. The unhealthy cells are mostly the effect of the infection in ear which will spread into the skull. It is the procedure to remove the mastoid air cell/air bubbles in the skull, which is near the inner ear. This is the part of the treatment that is done for mastoiditis.
