Journals List
A scholarly or academic journal might be a periodical publication during which scholarship regarding a selected academic discipline is published. Academic
journals function permanent and transparent forums for the presentation, scrutiny, and discussion of research. They are usually peer-reviewed or refereed. Content typically takes the shape of
articles presenting original research, review articles, and book reviews. The term academic journal applies to scholarly publications altogether fields; this text discusses the aspects common to all or any academic field journals. Scientific
journals and
journals of the quantitative social sciences vary in form and performance from
journals of the
humanities and qualitative social sciences. A journal states the date of a transaction, which accounts were affected, and the amounts, usually in a double-entry bookkeeping method. Some
journals are open access, or free. Some of these are included in our databases so you can find their
articles alongside fee-based articles. Other
open access content can be found by going directly to the journal's website or searching Google Scholar. Some
journals are embargoed. To protect print profits, some journal publishers withhold electronic copies of
articles until time has passed since publication, usually a year. Thus the library may not have recent issues of some journals. After the embargo period, the full text will appear.
