Hospice Care Top Open Access Journals

Hospice care is a type of special care that focuses on the quality of life of people and their caregivers who experience advanced illnesses that limit life. Hospital treatment provides loving care for people in the last phase of an incurable disease so they can live as fully and comfortably as possible. The philosophy of the hospice accepts death as the final stage of life: it asserts life, but does not try to accelerate or delay death. Hospital treatment treats people and symptoms of the disease, rather than treating the disease itself. Professional teams work together to manage symptoms so that the last days of a person can be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones. Hospital care is also family-centred - including patients and families in making decisions.
