Hirsutism is a medical condition which primarily affects woman by increasing the growth of hair through most part of the body. This occurs as a result of producing more male hormones(androgen) such as testosterone. Hirsutism affects nearly 5-15% of population. Testosterone is one of the major hormone that is responsible for the development of facial hairs in male. However, in this case, the projection of testosterone considerably increased in women which results in developing dark hair in most regions of the body. This can be reduced either by reducing testosterone or chemotherapy. Antiantrogens drugs such as bicalutamide can be used for treating.
