 Hemoglobin is the protein particle in red platelets that conveys oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. . The typical grown-up hemoglobin (Hbg) particle contains two alpha-globulin chains and two beta-globulin chains. In hatchlings and newborn children, beta chains are not normal and the hemoglobin particle is comprised of two alpha chains and two gamma chains. Every globulin chain contains a significant iron-containing porphyrin compound named heme. Implanted inside the heme compound is an iron molecule that is indispensable in moving oxygen and carbon dioxide in our blood. The iron contained in hemoglobin is additionally liable for the red shade of blood.
