Health Implications Of Heavy Metal
Heavy
metal toxicity can have numerous
health effects in the body. Heavy metals can harm and alter the functioning of organs such as the brain, kidney, lungs, liver, and blood. Heavy
metal toxicity can either be acute or chronic effects. Long-term acquaintance of the body to heavy metal can gradually lead to muscular, physical and neurological deteriorating processes that are similar to diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis,
muscular dystrophy and Alzheimer’s disease. Also, chronic long-standing experience of some
heavy metals may cause cancer. Heavy metal may cause proteins to collective as arsenite-induced protein aggregation was experiential and shown to be concentration-dependent. Also, the aggregates contained a wide variety of proteins enriched in functions linked to metabolism, protein folding, protein synthesis and stabilization.
