Follicular Unit Open Access Journals

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is a hair regeneration technique, also known as the strip process, where the hair of a patient is transplanted into groups of 1 to 4 hairs, called follicular units, which occur naturally. There are also sebaceous ( oil) glands, nerves, a small muscle and sometimes fine vellus hairs in follicular units. These small units allow the surgeon to transplant in follicular units. FUT is considered to be an improvement over earlier hair transplantation techniques which used larger grafts and often created an artificial pluggy look. In a properly performed transplant of follicular units, the results will mimic the way hair grows in nature and become undetectable as a hair transplant. The open access journal would provide platform and empower scholars, students, engineers and professionals to share their technical and academic expertise in all fields in FTU.s
