Drug Safety Applications
Drug safety, also known as
pharmacovigilance (PV or PhV), is a pharmacological science that is involved in the collection, detection, evaluation, monitoring, and prevention of side effects with pharmaceutical products. The specific goals of
pharmacovigilance are: to improve patient care and safety in connection with the use of
drugs and all medical and paramedical interventions. Improving public
health and safety related to drug use.
Pharmacovigilance is about identifying hazards associated with pharmaceutical products and minimizing the risk of harm to patients. Organizations must conduct comprehensive drug safety and
pharmacovigilance audits to assess compliance with global laws, regulations and guidelines. Drug safety is a key aspect of medical therapy that can play a key role in deciding which medications to give to patients. Given the concept of benefits / risks, we also found that high-risk
drugs should be avoided if not necessary. The specific goals of
pharmacovigilance are: to improve patient care and safety in relation to the use of
drugs and all medical and paramedical interventions. Improving public
health and safety are related to drug use.
