Biomedicine is traditionally thought to have no bias due to the evidence-based practices, Gaines & Davis-Floyd focuses on the fact that biomedicine itself has a cultural basis because it mirror the norms and values of its creators. Modern western scientific medicine is usually said as "biomedical" because it explains health in terms of biology. It adhere importance to learning about body structure (anatomy) and systems (physiology), in particular to figure out mechanisms like the heart, arteries, nerves, brain. The Biomedical Approach is describes biomedicine as a model that diagnoses a disease based on science, data and the research that has been performed to get to this data. It is an approach that says that surgery and medication is what will affect health in a positive light. This approach however, does not focus on the lifestyle of a patient when determining and treating health issues.
