Articles On Hemodialysis

Hemodialysis is a medical procedure in which the health kidneys remove the extra fluid from the blood and other waste products to correct electrolyte imbalances. They also produce substances which keep your body healthy. Dialysis-hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are two different types. Hemodialysis is usually used to treat acute (temporary) and chronic (permanent) kidney insufficiency. A portion of the failing kidneys take over to remove the waste products and fluid dialysis. When the kidney function is lost to about 90 percent then typically dialysis is needed. It can be acute renal failure or acute kidney damage or chronic illness of the kidney, i.e. the operation of the kidney can be easily lost from months to years. In this scenario, replacement therapy is involved in treating kidney disease. Short time dialysis is required in acute kidney failure until the kidneys get better. But it does require kidney transplantation in the case of chronic if kidney disease occurs overtime.
