Aquaculture includes the production of seafood from hatchery fish and shellfish produced in ponds, tanks, cages or raceways to market size. Aquaculture is the method for closing off the supply gap for seafood. Responsibly and sustainably growing fish is the way to provide access to safe and environmentally sustainable protein choices for future generations. Aquaculture has the potential to improve our planet's health and our population's health, as long as it is done in a manner that is environmentally friendly, socially responsible and that takes into account food safety and animal welfare.
