Aldosterone Peer-review Journals

An important system and hormonal process in controlling blood pressure, fluid volume and sodium –potassium balance is Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Aldosterone is one of the hormones of Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, whose production and synthesis are controlled by AngII through the Adrenal cortex.By the actions of the nephrons of the kidney ,it provides reabsorption of sodium ,water retention and prevents magnesium and potassium loss, which helps in blood pressure control. Aldosterone binding to mineral corticoid receptors produce genomic effects, which helps in transcription of genes regulating fluid balance and electrolytes. As aldosterone is produced by epithelial cells of the renal tubule it induces water absorption . Thus the main effect of this process is controlling arterial blood pressure range.
