Abstract
Patient-Reported Outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis: Bridging the Gap Between Clinical and Real-World Data
Author(s): Sebastian E Sattui*Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and eventually disability. Traditional clinical measures of disease activity have provided invaluable insights into disease progression and treatment responses. However, these measures often fail to fully capture the patient's perspective on their health. Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are increasingly recognized as essential tools in the management of RA, offering direct insight into the patient's experience of symptoms, quality of life, and functional status. This paper explores the role of PROs in rheumatoid arthritis, examines the gap between clinical measures and real-world data, and discusses strategies to integrate PROs into clinical practice to enhance personalized care.
