Transcriptomics Scientific Journals
Transcriptomics is the study of transcriptome - the complete set of genomic RNA transcripts, under specific circumstances or in a cell - using high throughput methods, such as
microarray analysis. Transcriptional comparison allows to identify genes that are differentially expressed in separate cell populations, or in response to different treatments. Transcriptomic technologies are the techniques used to study the transcript of an organism, the sum of all its RNA transcripts. The
information content of an organism is recorded in the DNA of its
genome and expressed through transcription. The RNA sequence reflects the DNA sequence from which it was copied. As a result, by analyzing the entire collection of RNA sequences in cells, researchers can determine when and where each
gene activates or turns off
cells and
tissues of an organism.
