Allergies in children are those causes, pathophysiology, treatments, management, practices and control of allergies that develop in children. Up to 40 percent of youngsters suffer from rhinitis. And youngsters are more likely to develop allergies if one or both parents have allergies. Allergies differ between adults and youngsters. A part of the rationale for this that the systema respiratorium in children is smaller. The bronchi and bronchioles are narrower so even a small decrease in diameter of those airways can have serious consequences. Many children outgrow their allergies. Allergies are physiological reactions caused when the system reacts to a selected foreign substance (allergen) that has been inhaled, touched or eaten by an individual .Normally, the physical body defends itself against harmful substances, like viruses or bacteria, but, sometimes, the defenses aggressively attack usually innocuous substances like dust, mold or pollen. The system generates large amounts of the antibodies called immunoglobin E (IgE), to attack and destroy the supposed enemy. Each IgE antibody specifically targets a specific allergen — the substance that triggers the allergy. During this disease-fighting process, inflammatory chemicals, like histamines, cytokines and s leukotrienare released or produced, and a few unpleasant, and, in extreme cases, life-threatening, symptoms could also be experienced by an allergy-prone child.
