Spinal surgery  also known as  spondylodesis. Spinal surgery is a neurosurgical or orthopedic surgical technique that are used to join two or more vertebrae. This procedure can be performed with any level in the spine and prevents many movement between the fused vertebrae.   Surgery there is the risk of the complications. Surgery is done near the spine and spinal cord with these complications if it occurs that can be very serious. Complications could involve the subsequent pain and impairment for the need of additional surgery. Spinal fusion can take as little as more than 2 hours and as long as for 6 or 7 hours, for even longer. It takes more long that depends on the number of vertebrae being fused that are badly to the vertebrae are diseased  whether the spinal nerves are pinched and need to be decompressed and whether there is scarring from prior surgeries.
