The term ‘Scientific Tourism’ might mean something quite different for an individual who works within the area of tourism and for a standard traveler. According to our recent survey ‘scientific tourism’ features a wide selection of meanings for folk. A group of scientists, exploring scientists, professionals working in other subject fields and laboratories, et al. said that term meant a self-paid astronaut on the orbit of the Earth or even tourists in general. Even among tourism professionals’ different opinions about this field of tourism are often found. The term scientific tourism appeared in literature for the primary time in 1980 within the work ‘Tropical Science and Tourism’. Scientific tourism was described there as a piece of explorers in country without proper technical equipment. The Scientific Tourism in Zvolen, Slovakia says that “the basis of scientific tourism is satisfying educational, cultural and leisure needs of a gaggle of people who are interested in the same thing. The main a part of scientific tourism are excursions led by experts during a specific field. Some seminars alongside various audio-visual media are often included also.” Agritourism: although often used to describe all tourism activities in rural areas, more frequently either term relates to tourism products which are ‘directly connected with the agrarian environment, agrarian products or agrarian stays’: staying at farm, whether in rooms or camping, educational visits, meals, recreational activities, and the sale of farm product or handicrafts.
