The term ‘Scientific Tourism’ might mean something quite different for an individual who works within the area of
tourism and for a standard traveler. According to our recent survey ‘scientific tourism’ features a wide selection of meanings for folk. A group of scientists, exploring scientists, professionals working in other subject fields and laboratories, et al. said that term meant a self-paid astronaut on the orbit of the Earth or even tourists in general. Even among
tourism professionals’ different opinions about this field of
tourism are often found. The term scientific
tourism appeared in literature for the primary time in 1980 within the work ‘Tropical Science and Tourism’. Scientific
tourism was described there as a piece of explorers in country without proper technical equipment. The Scientific
Tourism in Zvolen, Slovakia says that “the basis of scientific
tourism is satisfying educational, cultural and leisure needs of a gaggle of people who are interested in the same thing. The main a part of scientific
tourism are excursions led by experts during a specific field. Some seminars alongside various audio-visual
media are often included also.” Agritourism: although often used to describe all
tourism activities in rural areas, more frequently either term relates to
tourism products which are ‘directly connected with the agrarian environment, agrarian products or agrarian stays’: staying at farm, whether in rooms or camping, educational visits, meals, recreational activities, and the sale of farm product or handicrafts.
