Rhabdoid Carcinoma Open Access Articles

Rhomboid meningioma is a rare subtype of meningiomas that constitutes 1-3 percent of all intracranial meningiomas and is listed as a tumor of WHO Grade III. It has an aggressive course and needs both surgical and radiotherapy treatment. Here we present a rare case of rhomboid meningioma with complaints of focal seizures, paresis and diplopia in a 24 year old lady. In left poster superior frontal parietal region with peripheral edema CT & MRI showed a mass attached to dura. Histopathology demonstrated large tumor cells in sheets, whorls and papillary pattern. The patient was diagnosed with radiation, followed by surgery. It is confirmed that the surgical pathologists are aware of this to retain this subtype as a differential diagnosis when treating every meningioma as it has an aggressive course.
