Reproductive System Images

An organism's reproductive system, also known as the genital system, is the biological system made up of all the anatomical organs involved in sexual reproduction. Many non-living substances such as  hormones, pheromones and fluids are also important accessories for the reproductive system. The reproductive system is a collection of external and internal organs - in both females and males - that work together for reproduction, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Because of its vital role in sex survival, many scientists claim that the reproductive system is one of the most important systems in the entire body. In contrast to most organ systems, the sexes of the species that distinguish most often have significant differences. These differences allow genetic material to be combined between two individuals, allowing for greater genetic fitness of the offspring.
