Poultry Uses
"Poultry" can be defined as domestic poultry, including turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese raised for meat or egg production and the word is also used for the meat of these poultry used as food. Growing poultry is quite profitable in the sense that it gives a good return for the the time, energy devoted and amount invested, to it and the work employed. It requires less investment compared to raising other animals. It only requires around Rs. 10,000 / - on fixed capital and raising about 100 chickens. This gives a quick return on investment. The Broilers intake is relatively low and it produces a maximum amount of food for us. Poultry is capable of utilizing large quantities of by-products such as standard cereals, bran, vegetables, etc.
