Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Impact Factor

A hormonal disorder common to women of reproductive age is the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Women with PCOS can experience rare or prolonged menstrual cycles, or excessive levels of male hormone (androgen). The ovaries may produce numerous small fluid collections (follicles) and fail to release eggs regularly. It is unknown what exactly causes PCOS. The risk of long-term complications like type 2 diabetes and heart disease can be reduced by early diagnosis and treatment along with weight loss. A journal's impact factor is assessed by dividing the number of current year citations into the source items that were published in that journal over the previous two years.
