Liver Biopsy Peer-review Journals

 The process of collecting a tissue sample from the liver by inserting a small needle is known as Liver Biopsy. This type of test is performed during the surgery as an outpatient procedure. After collecting the sample, the tissue is examined in a laboratory to help the doctors in order to detect a variety of disorders and diseases in the liver. Liver biopsy is most often performed to help identify the cause of liver enzymes, jaundice, liver abnormality and unexplained enlargement of the liver.  In most illustrations, there are no complications in obtaining a liver biopsy. However, rarely internal bleeding may occur from the liver or gallbladder.
