Ingrowing Toe Nail Treatment

There are different categories of surgical procedure for ingrown toenails. Partial nail removal only engage in removing the piece of nail that is dredged into your skin. Doctor paralyzes our toe and then tightens the toenail. According to the NHS, partial nail removal is 98 % effective for preventing future ingrown toenails. During a partial nail removal, the sides of the nail are lacerated away so that the margins are completely straight. A piece of cotton is placed under the remaining portion of the nail to keep the ingrown toenail from recurring. Doctor may also treat our toe with a compound called phenol, which helps the nail regrowth. Total nail evacuation may be done if ingrown nail is caused by thickening. Local pain injection is given and then entire nail is removed in a process called a matrixectomy.
